C-R HS's 2020-21 Reopening Plan

C-R High School will operate in full compliance with the district’s reopening plan.  Listed below are school-specific details on the school’s schedule, social and emotional well-being programs, and school activities.

School Schedule

  • C-R High School will offer a hybrid instructional model consisting of onsite and remote learning.

  • Onsite learning will occur in small student cohorts/classes.

  • Onsite learning will operate on a shortened instructional day (approximately six hours).

  • High school students will be assigned to one of two onsite rotations:

  • Monday/Thursday/Every Other Wednesday

  • Tuesday/Friday/Every Other Wednesday

More information on each school’s academic schedules will be posted to each school’s website by Aug. 14.

If possible, student schedules will be mailed (or emailed) to students and families by Aug. 28.

Social emotional well-being

As part of our reopening process, all faculty, staff, students, and parents will be oriented to:

  1. Resources available to students within our high school.

  2. Resources available to students and families in the community.

  3. Our procedure for reporting concerns pertaining to social emotional well being for yourself or someone else.

Physical Education and Instrumental and Vocal Music Programs

We recognize that physical education and music programs are an important part of a student’s overall education experience.  We are still assessing the feasibility of providing physical education and performing arts instruction to students given enhanced social distancing requirements for those activities.

A distance of 12 feet in all directions is maintained between individuals while participating in activities requires projecting one’s voice (singing), playing a wind instrument, or aerobic activity.

Extracurriculars

Extracurricular Activities

Onsite, in-person extracurricular activities are suspended until further notice in order to mitigate increased exposure risk to the COVID-19 infection.

Club and activity advisors are strongly encouraged to offer co-curricular and extracurricular activities virtually to students, to the extent practicable.  Advisors should coordinate those activities through their building principals.

Interscholastic (Competitive) Athletics

Interscholastic athletics (modified, JV, and varsity sports) are suspended through September 21, 2020.  This includes all team practices, scrimmages, and games/contests.  We are awaiting additional guidance on competitive athletics from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHAA).
